Sam has more than 20 years of experience in higher education, executive training and development, and management consultancy, in the fields of procurement and supply chain strategy, operations/industry 4.0, omnichannel systems, and data analytics, in automotive, petrochemical, manufacturing, healthcare, food, logistics, and retail sectors. He has delivered training courses and keynote speeches in various countries including UK, Germany, France, Norway, Finland, Brazil, Japan, China, Oman, and Poland.
Sam is currently senior lecture and member of faculty at Centre for Logistics, Procurement, and Supply Chain Management; director of Executive MSc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and director of Leading Procurement Strategy at Cranfield University. He has BSc and MSc in Industrial Engineering, MA in Higher Education, and award-winning PhD in Supply Chain Management from University of East Anglia, and published and presented several papers in academic and business journals and conferences, among them are the best ICPR conference paper, the best-selling ECCH case study, and the most cited paper of Journal of Business Research.
Sam has been guest editor, member of the editorial board and reviewer of several journals in the areas of sustainable supply chain management, logistics and operations management. He is also an active member of a number of committees and forums at professional bodies and research centres such as Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (CILT), Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS), and Centre for Strategic Procurement and Supply Chain Management.
Sam is Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport and Senior Fellow of Higher Education Academy.
