• Comprises 4,000 industrial companies.
• Employs 400,000 people in France.
• Has a turnover of €155 billion.
• Is equivalent to 18% of the manufacturing industry's turnover.
• Has an export volume of €49 billion.

By 2018, the French automotive industry consisted of 39.5 million units, which included:

• 32.7 million private vehicles.
• The proportion of households with a car was estimated at 84%, which included 47.5% of households with one car, 31.1% of households with two cars and 5.3% of households with three or more cars.
• It also included 92,000 buses and coaches.
• 6.1 million light commercial vehicles.
• 540000 industrial vehicles.
